Well, what felt like a dream a little over a month ago is fast becoming a reality.
Carlton, the faders, the chokers, the laughingstock of the 2026 season after ten rounds of footy are starting to laugh a little, themselves. With five wins on the trot, the Blues are now knocking on the door of the top ten, and just like that, the Giants look vulnerable.
Coming into this Round 15 clash between the Blues and Giants, we found these teams at the crossroads.
The Blues were riding a four-game winning streak, lifting after the shackles were released, and the pressure removed with the sacking (lol, of course I mean stepping down) of Michael Voss. Their turnaround has made many hope that Josh Fraser remains as the head coach.
In contrast, the Giants have been unable to generate any type of momentum in 2026. With back-to-back wins just once this year, they have been one of the AFL’s most disappointing teams.
However, the introduction of the wildcard round, rewarding teams finishing ninth and tenth with a ‘final’, is keeping both teams in the hunt. And if you make that weekend, anything can happen from there.
The Blues entered this one without Jacob Weitering, leaving their defence looking vulnerable, but the Giants have not really been renowned for their dominant forwards this season.
A true eight-point game unfolding at Engie Stadium as we head toward the business end of the season – let’s check out how it all went down.
