You know, when I mentioned to a few people that I was keen to watch this game, they mocked me. I am a bit naive – I looked at them, wondering why they were so amused by the fact I was covering the Saints and Giants.
Turns out, I was covering a game at the exact time Australia was running around in their World Cup opener, apparently.
Luckily for me, I could not give a rat’s tossbag about the World Cup (thanks to Malcolm Blight for the saying), so fans of both the Saints and Giants got me giving my undivided attention to the ripping game that unfolded at Marvel Stadium, as these two teams looked to entrench themselves in discussion for finals, and/or wildcard round.
The thing about this game is… I was genuinely excited for it. I rate both of these teams, and believe they’re both far better than their ladder positions indicate, and as this game unfolded, we saw evidence that made this
