We’ll be keeping a close eye on what happens with picks 25 and 27 in the upcoming National Draft for a very good reason.
You see, Pick 27 was the payment rendered for Brodie Grundy’s move to Melbourne and 25 was the price Geelong paid to allow Brownlow Medallist, Tom Mitchell to head to Collingwood. That deal also saw the Pies send Ollie Henry “home”.
Not a bad shot in the arm for the kids picked with numbers 25 and 27, huh? Four All-Australians, five Best and Fairest awards, an MVP award, and a Brownlow… that’s what changed hands in the trade period in order to bring you to the Pies.
