How does the old saying go? Make hay while the sun shines?
That’s what the Sydney Swans did… in way, considering the game was played in the evening, but you get the gist of it. The Swans had the early running with the dry football, piling on seven goals in the first quarter to open up a match-winning lead.
For the remainder of the game they would outscore the Blues by just seven points, as Carlton found their groove and even looked as though they may threaten during the third quarter.
In the end, the Swans, led by the wonderful Errol Gulden, were able to steady the ship and steer Sydney home. It was an impressive performance, with a few standouts to make mention of.
Let’s get into the review of the Sydney v Carlton clash in Blacktown.
Uh oh… paywall. I’m working my way through all the practice games for our members. All preseason game coverage will be restricted and will not open up like our Home and Away reviews. Of course, these reviews are only a couple of thousand words. H&A season… I’ll get the game face on. Want to join us?
