Brisbane v Geelong – Practice Match Review

When you’re slated to play the reigning premiers in the preseason, teams should be feeling pretty good. Not only do you get to trot out against the best in the business, but you get to test yourself and understand just where you sit.

It hasn’t been that long since the Preliminary Final, where the Cats handled the Lions a little too easily, but with Geelong missing their two offensive pillars, the structure that has served them so well looked a little bit shaky.

The Lions mauled the Cats in the first quarter, restricting the champs and holding them to a goalless term. The Lions kicked four of their own to set the tone and ended up running out 46-point winners.

As always, your old pal, HB, was looking on and has all the ins and outs of what was a pretty impressive outing from Brisbane.

Uh oh… paywall. We’re gonna cover as many practice games this weekend as technology and lack of sleep will allow for our members. All preseason game coverage will be restricted and will not open up like our Home and Away reviews. Of course, these reviews are only a couple of thousand words. H&A season… I’ll get the game face on. Want to join us?
