The Prophet’s Predictions – Round Four

As the football world descends on Adelaide, and we look towards GATHER ROUND, what are the key things to look forward to? Well, I’m the Prophet and to help you out, these are my Predictions.

If you decide to base your multi off this, and it fails, I’ve warned you already that that is risky. I won’t be to blame. This is purely for fun, and to see how I go. Feel free to message the page or comment on the previous week’s version if you have any thoughts.

So, strap yourselves in for the Prophet’s Predictions for Round Four.

The Guarantee

Given the AFL’s response after Easter Monday, and Craig McRae not wanting to see free kicks, Jack Ginnivan – or, better known as Jack Gonnaliftmyarmagain – will get at least 4 high contact free kicks against his former side.

The Ultimate Nightmare (Worst Case Scenario)

Adelaide fans don’t learn from the Round Two pitch invader and decide that disrupting multiple games for TikTok views is the sort of entertainment footy fans appreciate. FYI – it’s not!

The Outsider (unexpected winner)

I won’t sleep on the Bombers again. I said last week that they needed to win if they were to show they really have an effective edge – and they did that. Port weren’t terrible, and they are better than the Dons on paper. However, it’d be peak Port to drop this. It’ll be a good watch on Friday night.

The Money Maker (Bold Call)

A game’s result will be impacted by either a non-score review or a botched score review. For the Crows sake, I hope it’s not them again. How catastrophic would it be that they miss their first win by another goal umpiring error?

Most at Stake (Vulnerable)

Both the Crows and the Power on their home deck against Melbourne sides. They need to respond to losses last week (and the first two weeks for the Crom).

Also, the Cats are 3-0 but still have detractors. A win here will be big!

The Must Watch (match up or game)

The Saturday evening/night Adelaide Oval doubleheader will be fun to watch. Freo v Carlton pits two undefeated sides against each other, and the in-form Alex Pearce up against the Blues twin towers.

With the Dogs v Cats, there are A-graders everywhere. Can the Cats overcome a five-day break and heavy legs from a waterlogged Easter Monday, or will the Dogs midfield be too dominant?

I’d encourage you to settle in on Saturday for two very intriguing games.

The Unexpected (underdog performance)

The Texan – Taylor Walker – has been around for a while and is a proud man. Expect him to respond to the critics and perform well against the Dees as they open Gather Round.

The Don (player of the round)

I could list the entirety of the Swans side here, as they could realistically secure the first triple-figure winning margin in 2024 against the Eagles. So, let’s raffle it, and go with Brodie Grundy.

The Underboss (rookie of the round)

From all of his scouting reports, it seems Ethan Read is a unicorn – as David King likes to say. He could line up anywhere for his Suns debut. Expect him to live up to the hype.

Individual Brilliance (predicting a stat accomplishment like x goals or marks)

Joe Daniher to kick 5+ goals against the struggling Roos defence, to get the Lions onto the winners list for the first time this year.

The Winners (currently on 20)

Melbourne

Brisbane

Port Adelaide

Sydney

Carlton

Geelong

GWS

St Kilda

Collingwood
