In a game littered with inaccuracy, the Fremantle Dockers looked a cut about the West Coast Eagles, with the difference in the teams really starting to become apparent once fatigue settled in.
After losing Matt Flynn the day before the game, with what appears to be a serious hamstring tendon injury, the Eagles were on the back foot, and despite hanging with the Dockers early, found the going a little too tough.
Freo’s run and carry through the middle and their quality ball use had the Eagles constantly retreating, but there were still signs from a few young guns in blue and gold that the future is not as bleak as the present.
