Brisbane v Collingwood – Big Statements

The Pies came at the Lions in the third quarter, as we all knew they would, pulling the margin back to one kick. A lesser team would have succumbed to that surge. A lesser team would have doubted themselves.

But there is something about this Brisbane Lions team, and the way they were able to regroup and regain control of the game speaks volumes about where they’re at in 2023.

With the big three forwards of Joe Daniher, Eric Hipwood, and Charlie Cameron (big in terms of performance, if not stature) slotting ten goals between them, the Lions always looked potent when going forward and as the Collingwood injury toll continued to mount, Brisbane looked better and better.

Lots to get through in this one – let’s jump in with The Mongrel’s Big Statements.
