Going North – Who Do The Roos Target For 2024?

If you’ve watched North Melbourne consistently this season, you will no doubt have a good idea as to the holes in their team.

And it is not only the holes that are already apparent the team has to worry about, but the ones that are forming as this year progresses.

Players are getting older, there are contracts that are expiring with little to no movement on new deals, and there will likely be a few players that are shown the door after this season.

What’s that? Name names?

Lachie Young, Daniel Howe, Kayne Turner, Liam Shiels (who has been excellent for someone they dragged out of retirement), Aaron Hall.

2023 was always going to be the season Alastair Clarkson started to shape his list. Of course, an ongoing… and going… and going AFL investigation saw him forced to step away from the game to protect his well-being and that may have stalled things, but I have the feeling North will try to be very active this off-season and maybe even take a risk or three.

For those who have not watched a lot of North games, here are the places they simply don’t have the talent to compete.
