Brisbane v St Kilda – The Big Questions

A win on the road at this stage of the season is huge. No matter the venue, the opponent, or the circumstance, to pick up four points away from home is like mana from heaven, and that is what the Brisbane Lions left Marvel Stadium with on Friday night.

In a game that turned out to be an arm wrestle, the power of the Lions’ talls at either end was too much for a St Kilda unit that look a player or two away from being a very good side. Of course, those two players are on the list – they just haven’t been on the park for most of the season.

Brisbane got a huge night from their bookends, Eric Hipwood and Harris Andrews, both of whom gave their respective opponents a bit of a bath, particularly in the first half before Ross Lyon was forced to address the issues. By then, the Lions had established a three-and-a-half goal lead and that, my friends, was that, with Brisbane maintaining that distance for the remainder of the game.

HB cast his eye over this one to bring you the Big Questions stemming from a mighty away win for the Lions, setting up their run at the top four, whilst putting the Saints in jeopardy of dropping out of the eight.

Let’s jump in.
