Melbourne v Collingwood – The Big Questions

The Pies were always going to come for the Dees in the last quarter. It’s what they do – it was going to come down to how the Demons handled the challenge when it came.

After being told for weeks they couldn’t get it done against teams in the eight, Melbourne silenced their critics and re-established themselves in the premiership frame, outplaying not just a top-eight team, but the ladder leaders.

Despite some woeful kicking at goal, which really should have seen the Dees miles in front of the Pies had they kicked even remotely straight, Melbourne found themselves in the driver’s seat heading into the last quarter, and powered by former captain, Jack Viney, were able to hold off the fast finishing Magpies to sit a game clear in the top four and keep both the Pies and Power int heir sights.

Plenty to get through in this one, so let’s jump on in with the best coverage of the King’s Birthday clash you’re gonna find.

It was the Dees over the Pies at the MCG, and here are The Mongrel’s Big Questions from the game.
