The game of footy has been a magnet to me. Ever since childhood, it has been a constant in my life, something I could always go back to and feel comfortable with.

I guess, in a way, football has been a safe space for me. It’s ironic, then, that the safer the AFL try to make the game, the less comfortable I feel with it.
