Port Adelaide v St Kilda – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Are they still calling for the head of Ken Hinkley?

If you’re a Port Adelaide supporter, I am sure you know a few people who act as though the coach ran over their dog at some stage over the last 12 months. Maybe it’s time they got over and perhaps invested in a new dog?

Sitting at 5-2, Port Adelaide knocked over the league-leading Saints on the road, and in the process gave themselves a launching pad to mount a serious assault on the finals in 2023.

The game was a tough, contested affair, with the Saints jumping out to an early three-goal lead before Port turned the screws and started matching the manic St Kilda pressure that has become their hallmark through the first month and a half of the season. From there, it became an arm wrestle, with Port’s bigger, stronger bodies becoming a factor as the game reached its crescendo.

Led by a brilliant effort from former captain, Travis Boak, and some powerful work in the clinches from their prized recruit, Jason Horne-Francis, the Power proved too strong, holding on to win by seven points and giving themselves the chance to start eyeing off a top four spot.

Let’s jump into The Mongrel’s Good, Bad, and Ugly.
