It is a quote attributed to writer and philosopher, George Santayana. Though I have taken a slight liberty with it to apply it to this article, the sentiment rings true.

Richmond went all-in on the 2023 season, recruiting star players to fill a void that required attention if this team was to push back into finals and have a definite presence.

Was it worth it?

Or have they simply made the same mistakes another powerhouse did in order to remain relevant?
