There was a point in the 2021 AFL season where the pack dragged Jacob Weitering back. Like the peloton in the Tour de France, the combined might of the many was too much for the breakaway leader, and they not only caught him, but some passed him.

But Weitering is no shrinking violet, and over the past month of footy, has gone about rectifying the situation.

Now the peloton must gather themselves and reel our leader in. They have five weeks to drag him back to the pack once again. Can they do it? Or are we seeing our Defensive Player of the Year make the break that will win him the award?

Here are the Round 18 results and overall standings.
