The AFL career of Carlton forward/mid, Jack Martin has not quite lived up to expectations.

Not yet, anyway.

Taken in one of the pre-draft concessions allocated to the Gold Coast Suns – number one in the 2012 mini-draft, Martin was viewed as a potential generational player. With Jaeger O’Meara, selected the year before as part of the Suns’ first intake of talent, Martin was supposed to be one of the pillars of the Gold Coast franchise as it grew into a powerhouse.

It was all good in theory.
