It was a tight tussle for three quarters out West, until the Dockers put the foot down in the last quarter and pulled away to win by 28 points.
The wind played havoc with set shot goal kicking, with several shots that you’d normally mark down as a goal being pushed wide, or not making the distance.
West Coast made the most of the wind, slotting five goals in the first, but they could replicate that form, managing just three for the remainder of the game.
Meanwhile, the Dockers hit their stride in the second quarter, and went on to outscore the Eagles against the wind in the third, as well.
The day was soured by a knee injury to young Eagle, Noah Long, who many had pegged for a big 2026. Fingers crossed it is not as bad as it looked.
