As it stands, there are multiple contracted players, and several of those who signed big contract extensions to ensure security, who are now coming to the conclusion that they don’t want to remain at the club that agreed to their terms.
Things change rapidly in the AFL – look at Carlton right now. Just a couple of years back, it was a pretty popular view that the Blues were entering a premiership window. The combination of Curnow and McKay were dominant, Patrick Cripps had his heir apparent in Sam Walsh, and Jacob Weitering was ruling the skies in defence.
