After the Adelaide Crows were bundled out of the 2025 Finals Series, there was a bit of soul-searching to be done at West Lakes.
Against both the Magpies and Hawks, it became apparent that despite powerful presences at both ends of the ground, this team lived and died by having a midfield that had to punch out of their weight division… and that was unsustainable against the best teams at the pointy end of the year.
The Crows may have finished top of the ladder, and given where they’d come from, that makes the year a success in my eyes, but there is a definite feeling they let it slip away this season.
Is the potential acquisition of Christian Petracca enough to tighten that grip right up?
