A warm Brisbane evening set the scene for a good first half of footy. Sadly, that was followed by a second half of fumbling, bumbling, and stumbling as the Lions and Suns struggled with the slippery ball in their match sim.
The damage was well and truly done by that stage, however, with Charlie Cameron running rampant for five first-half goals as the Lions gave the Suns the business and showed Damien Hardwick that his team has a long way to go if they are to play finals this season.
Oh, but hang on… it’s “just the pre-season”, right? It doesn’t matter, you think?
You keep telling yourself that, because the work that goes in now, the systems that are set up and refined, and the effort the players make pays dividends later on, and the Lions were the ones more willing to do the work in this one.
