This is what happens when you make moves to improve.
I’ve used this line before, but I reckon it fits here best. In one of the many great Leonard Cohen compositions, First we take Manhattan, he utters “Ah, you loved me as the loser, but now you’re afraid I just might win.”
That about sums up those who are gunning for St Kilda right now. They’re not barracking for the team to succeed – it doesn’t make for good copy. They want them crashing and burning to generate headlines. Furthermore, they’re barracking for the Saints’ aggressive off-season moves to backfire in order to pony up an easy story. And given they have loud voices, many have followed suit.
