There was an air of danger about this game for the Blues, and the longer the game progressed, the more dangerous it got.
Around the end of the second quarter, I found myself comparing the game to last week’s Carlton game against the Swans. However, I doubted the Tigers had the firepower that Sydney possessed, and thought they’d fall short.
They did fall short, but only due to inaccuracy, as the Blues again faded in the second, holding on to win by just four points.
The talking points coming out of this game will be the form of Jagga Smith, the wayward radar of Tom Lynch, and what could have been for Richmond. Yes, the Tigers were close, but the Blues dug deep, battled it out, and emerged with the badly needed four points.
