2026 Match Sim – Sydney v Western Bulldogs

There have been plenty of takeaways from the Match Sims to date, and the Swans and Dogs gave us more than a few more as they tangled at the Whitten Oval on Thursday afternoon.

Before we jump into what occurred on the park, it is worth noting the players who were not available for either side.

The Dogs had very strong representation in the State of Origin game, and as such, were missing Rory Lobb, Aaron Naughton, Marcus Bontempelli, Tim English, Sam Darcy, and Ed Richards.

They’re all top-liners.

The Swans were missing only Chad Warner due to that game, so immediately, you got the feeling that Sydney were going to be rolling out a far greater side than the home team.

No preamble this time – let’s jump into who did what, and why it mattered.
