Well, it’s been a month since another season of AFL football passed us by, and another very-deserving team reigns as premiers.
Or the same team as last year, to be exact.
And, as is always the case when it comes to success, much of the praise for the way the team went about their winning ways falls to the leadership. It is on that aspect that we focus today.
This post-season, we’ve seen a fair bit of movement. That’s normally the case, but there has been a stark difference this year, inasmuch as plenty of the movement, or attempted movement, has involved club captains.
How does this impact our 2025 Captains Ladder?
Well, time to find out.
I am old enough to remember when kids were assessed via the A-B-C-D-E-F system instead of this stupid system they use now, so I am going with what I know. Actually, if I went with what I knew, they’d all be rated in the C-D section, which wwasaboit where I sat – just enough to get by… the story of my life.

Oh… a Mongrel paywall… the worst of all paywalls. Why? Because HB believes work such as this is worth a mere pittance per day. Whilst you could stick with Caro’s Arrow or Kane’s Vol-Kane-O, you’ll get your 500 words in the newspaper and be happy… when they’re not on holiday. The Mongrel NEVER stops. Trades, Free Agency, Draft, Pre-Season, Practice Games… we’re all in. You could dump the mainstream and dive articles like this. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. You’re welcome to join and keep reading if you do.
