Sitting in 14th position on the ladder, and staring down an off-season where they do not possess their own first round pick in the draft, the Dees seem to be up a particular creek with no means of propulsion.

They have had moments in 2025, and for a little while, teased that their plan may be coming together one last time.

Alas, they are not the A-Team, and Simon Goodwin is no Hannibal Smith.

The sad fact is that in terms of talent, Melbourne still possess more A-Grade talent than many clubs. However, last weekend, as you looked at them standing across from the Crows, the A-Grade Talent comparison had one striking difference.

Age.
