In a contest with plenty of feeling, fuelled largely by the tagging job of Marcus Windhager on Nick Daicos, the Saints loomed as a threat as they kicked the first two goals of the last quarter.
But good sides respond.
Good sides take the hit and throw a few back in their own right.
And Collingwood landed some heavy blows over the last 15 minutes to see them home.
