At this stage of the 2024 AFL season, people were all about the Sydney Swans.
Remember that? Many already had their name engraved on the cup.
However, what followed was a strange second half of the season, which saw Sydney brought back down to Earth, the Lions rise to prominence, seemingly from nowhere, and other would-be contenders fell away, dramatically.
The Bombers were sitting in the top four. The Blues were second. And those Lions… well, they were 13th.
A lot can happen in the last ten weeks of the year, and that’s what we’re here to have a look at.
Who are the contenders and the pretenders as we start shifting our focus toward the business end of the season?
