The Big Three – The Best Defensive Trios in the Game

Some teams are blessed when it comes to their defensive unit. Others… not so much.

Teams like the Brisbane Lions seem to have hit the jackpot, with a star big defender in Harris Andrews, a very handy lockdown big man, in Jack Payne, and a running, gunning rebounder like Dayne Zorko, but where do they sit when it comes to the most erotic of AFL combinations… the threesome?

Well, not that erotic, granted… unless we find some interesting footage from that camera that sits in the change rooms to capture when injured players head in to be assessed, but still pretty important.

Weekly, HB has his regular Defensive Player of the Year Award column, which we’ll have up in the next 24 hours, but this week we’re doing a little more.

Let’s have a look at the best defensive threesomes in the league.

And yes, I know I could have avoided the smut by calling it defensive trios… but I am not that kind of person, okay? I’m much, much worse.

As this is associated with the DPOY columns, it is restricted to our members. Sorry about that… not sorry.
