Some players get more time in the limelight than they deserve, whilst others get that time for the wrong reasons.
Billy Frampton is one who fits into the second category.
There are a generation of supporters who will remember Frampton as the man who won a premiership medal in 2023 with a game consisting of just two disposals in 106 minutes of game time.
To many, his efforts in that premiership will be likened to those of Cam Mooney in North Melbourne’s 1999 flag win over Carlton. Of course, Cam went on to become a three-time premiership player, so he had the opportunity to build on his stateless 1999 effort.
And maybe Frampton will have the opportunity to build on his 2023 effort as soon as this season.
But really, he’s already well on the way. Some just foolishly choose not to see it.
