So, you may have noticed, I am having a bit of a break from the wingman/defensive player of the year columns this week, and instead, I am spamming your feed with other articles.
You can view that as a good, or bad thing. Rest assured, I have already crunched the numbers, and will be providing a double-helping of both next week. These shorter weeks kill me…
Anyway, one thing I’ve been toying with for years is having a rolling top ten, or top twenty “Mongrel Index”, where I rank the biggest mongrels in the game at intervals across the season.
And guess what?
Now is that time!
I figure we’re a quarter of the way through the season – I can start now, do another at the halfway point, and then… get this, another at the three-quarter mark before finally finishing as – surprise – the season ends.
Revolutionary stuff, I know.
So, without further ado, here is the first Mongrel Index of 2025.
