Over the past couple of weeks, we have heard plenty about the Hollywood Hawks. People expect them to contend in 2025, and they have the 3-0 record to justify the hype.
However, as we headed into the season, I had my eye on a team from South Australia. I watched them in the pre-season, analysed their list, and the Adelaide Crows were the team that leapt off the page at me.
On every line, this side has immense talent, but without the effort, it means little.
The effort was there in this one, and it has been there every time I watched this club in the pre-season and into the home and away season. I tipped them as the big improver in 2025, and the more I watch them, the more I believe.
I wonder if they made believers out of the Bombers in this one? As a matter of fact, the Bombers looked like they could not believe what was happening, as the Crows beat them on the inside, the outside, in the air, and on the ground.
It was a powerful display from Adelaide, who played a full four quarter game, and made the Bombers look second-rate.
Were the Crows that good? Were the Bombers that inept? Or was this a perfect storm of a team ready to blossom versus a team that does not yet know who it is?
Lots of questions coming out of this one, and that’s what I am here for.
