Do you ever a funny feeling about a team? As though, you just feel like they’re on the cusp of something?
Last season, the Adelaide Crows floundered, finishing 15th after another disappointing, injury-impacted season. To suggest that they’ll be one of the bolters of the 2025 season might sound preposterous to some, but after watching them handle Port Adelaide in their pre-season scratch match at Mount Barker, I started to wonder whether this may finally be the year they put it all back together again.
The AAMI Series clash against the Brisbane Lions only found my suspicions confirmed.

The last couple of years have seen Adelaide knocked down by injury. Key players at key moments have been sidelined, and it left a disjointed team trying to cover for losses. It ended as you’d expect, but within those dark clouds of poor results, we now find a bright silver lining.
Those players who were asked to step up and cover the absences gained valuable AFL experience, and we are now looking at an Adelaide side that may be the deepest in the league when it comes to talent.
And depth is perhaps the most underrated commodity in the league.
