The Three-Way Dance – Brisbane v Collingwood v Gold Coast Match-Sim

So, given I was working from home today, I decided to do a little research in relation to this unique pre-season fixture.

People, heed my warning – do NOT search for “Gold Coast Three-Way” if you’re looking to focus on footy. Things will get real weird, real quick. I mean, after I accidentally clicked on the same link seven or eight times, and watched the videos from multiple angles, I gave up, went upstairs, had a bit of alone time, and came back feeling refreshed to give you a rundown of the match sim pitting Brisbane versus Gold Coast versus Collingwood.

I’ve not seen this setup since the old Lightning Cup, and even then, there are differences – a six-period game with each club playing the standard four x 25 minute quarters. I kind of like it, but to review… not so easy.

With that in mind, I am just going to break down what we see, two-quarter game by two-quarter game, with a section at the end reserved for highlighting any piece of play or incident involving more than one club, or that may have ramifications that stretch further than just this evening.

Sound good?

Okay then – let’s jump into the pre-season fixture the WWE booked – the three-way dance between the Lions, Pies, and Suns.

Oh my…
