Time to Stand Up – Why The Heat Is On Connor Rozee

In the wake of Port Adelaide’s hammering at the hands of Geelong, many fingers were pointed.

Ken Hinkley copped the bunt of the anger from Power supporters, and perhaps, after another disappointing finals loss, it is now justified.

Charlie Dixon was highlighted for his lack of production as a leader and the spearhead of the forward line.

Zak Butters, almost unbelievably, had his conviction questioned.

And rumours out of Alberton seem to have centred on Jed McEntee being dropped for this weekend’s clash against Hawthorn. Once Tom Stewart was removed from the Geelong team, it seemed the usefulness of McEntee dissipated.

Probably a bit harsh on the bloke.

But one name I have not really heard mentioned much in the aftermath of that massive capitulation, is the man who is named the leader of this club for the 2024 season.

The Power got bugger all from Connor Rozee, and if one player needs to lift to drag his team across the line, he is the man – no longer a boy – that has to do it.

There are some players that grow in big games, and there are none bigger than finals. When you think of great finals performers, sadly, I would not be adding Connor’s name to the list, as it stands.
