It’s funny; this morning I have read several things about the game between the Power and the Dockers. Match reports and opinion pieces seem to surround one aspect of the contest – how Freo lost the game.
Excuse me?
I can sum up how the Dockers lost this contest pretty succinctly. They lost it because Port Adelaide played better, harder footy. That’s the reason.
Forget about the doom and gloom at Fremantle – we should be celebrating how fantastic this win was for Port, who hit the road, played a Dockers team with everything to gain and lose, and did the job on them. They’ve wion six in the row heading into finals – this is THE form team of the competition!
It was a professional, disciplined display from an outfit that has been maligned at times this season, sometimes by their own supporter base. However, with players firing in all sections of the ground, Port are looking like a team that will be difficult to stop.
But yeah… focus on why Freo lost… I’m sure everyone is sucked in by the opportunity to sink the boots into them. We’ll concentrate on the game, and the reasons Port won.
You know… the important stuff.
Let’s jump into The Mongrel’s Big Questions.
