It’s All About Timing – The Ginnivan/Schultz Debate

It’s all about timing in the AFL.

Timing your run to be at your best as you hit finals.

Timing your story to hit just the right time in the news cycle.

And timing your hot take to the minute to capitalise on the good form of a player, or the poor form of a team. Some people sit on their takes for weeks, waiting for the opportunity to arise to unleash it.

And that’s what we’ve seen this week, as the footy world celebrates the re-ascension of Jack Ginnivan to stardom, after he notched a career-high 31 disposals and added two goals against his old mob on the weekend.

The stars aligned for the hot-takers, as the man the Pies recruited to take the place of Ginnivan sat on the sidelines, nursing a concussion – the latest setback in what has been a trying year for him, and the club.
