These teams seem to be in the position where they could end up facing each other in the first week of finals, given their form up to this part of the season. Inaccuracy plagued these sides all game, with the Giants unable to kick a major for the whole first quarter before slotting three in the second.
At one stage, the teams had kicked a combined nine goals and 23 behinds, and that is not taking into account the shots that didn’t make the distance, or went out on the full. Like Joe Ganino streaking through the neighbourhood after his bucks night, it did not make for the greatest spectacle
In the end, it was the Giants with a combination of better execution (kind of) and more accountability that won out to give them a badly-needed win. This victory leapfrogs them over Port on the ladder, and puts them back in the hunt for a top-four spot.
