R3 – Collingwood v Brisbane – Ten Points of Interest

How quickly things change.

In one fell swoop, the Magpies have the monkey off their back, and the Lions are staring down a winless start to the season.

Collingwood triumphed on the road, knocking over their Grand Final foes at the Gabba in a contest where we saw some of the best and some of the worst from both sides..

It was a game of ebbs and flows, with the Pies getting the jump on the home team, and making them look pretty ordinary in the process. From there, the Lions roared back into the contest in the second quarter, with the increased pressure seeing tempers fraying.

But it was the premiership quarter that made the difference. The Pies kicked five goals to one in the third quarter to stretch the lead and stretch the Lions, ending up running out winners by 20 points.

Lots to cover in this one. Here are The Mongrel’s Ten Points Of Interest.
