The Blues have played two games in the last week with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees at Ikon Park.
And they looked like it against the Dees, as the 2021 Premiers established a first half lead and cruised to a pretty easy win in the end.
Truth be told, it should have been a larger margin, with Melbourne spraying multiple shots at goal. The final score saw them kick 11 behinds – not bad when they kicked 15 goals, right?
Wrong.
The Dees sprayed them all over the place, like Joe Ganino in the toilets of a high school reunion, with many out of bounds on the full, or not making the distance. Fritsch and Pickett were the worst offenders, but they had plenty of mates. Whilst Harry McKay did his best to match their inaccuracy at the other end, it was the only letdown in a pretty strong performance from them.
