Risk, Reward, and Manic Pressure – Stats That (Might) Matter in the Sydney v Collingwood Prelim

With the Pies and Swans looking like the best pressure sides in the game thus far in the finals series, I thought it would be pertinent to look a little deeper at the stats over the entire season to see whether this has been the case all the way through, or whether we’re seeing the sides ramp it up at the pointy end of the season.

The results have been… interesting, to say the least.

In this article, I’ll be taking a look at a number of indicators, both collectively and individually to see where these teams have been positioned all season, and which players have driven that performance. Sure, one of them could lift now, but only a fool chooses to ignore history… or something like that.
