At the end of the 2019 season, we compiled our Power Rankings for the season, and something I noticed was a lack of defenders in the high spots – just one player in the top 25. With James Sicily at 14, it became apparent that, a) I needed to tweak the way I was scoring the power rankings, and b) that I needed a way to reward defenders for their efforts.

As such, the Defensive Rankings were introduced.
