On The Outside – The Future Of Jack Ginnivan

As the small forward roundabout looks to continue at Collingwood, the situation involving Jack Ginnivan is one we probably should have seen coming.

And once the Pies announced that they were going to acquire Lachie Schultz, most people did see it coming.

With Bobby Hill already in the team and having a Norm Smith Medal in his trophy cabinet, the addition of Schultz pushed Ginnivan back another place in the pecking order. The writing was on the wall and the enigmatic forward read it clearly. His time with the Pies was coming to an end.

We’ll dispense with the “who is causing the trade” rubbish that seems to be doing the rounds. We’ll also do away with rumour and innuendo – plenty of other sites for that stuff.

No, rather than delve into those areas, we can look at what Hill, Schultz, and Ginnivan have, and can bring to the table, and whether Ginnivan can replicate his 2022 form at a new home – it is looking like the Hawks at this point.
