That’s a bit of an unnecessary whack to the Bombers to start this article, particularly as Sam Draper no longer plays in red and black. However, as we explore his impact at Brisbane to this point of the season, it might not be too far out of place.
Last week, I sat and chatted with a Brisbane fan while I was waiting for an appointment. I was wearing a Mongrel Punt hoodie (available on redbubble – always order a size larger than you think) so I was easily recognisable. As we chatted, he said to me he believed the Lions were not getting what was promised from Sam Draper.
It gave me pause – exactly what were Brisbane supporters really expecting from the former Bomber in year one of his Lions tenure?
