So, how was this review going to look at halftime?
You had Sam Darcy further cementing himself as not just the future, but the present. And he was doing it at the expense of the best big defender in the game.
You had Eric Hipwood unable to impact the game, restricted to just one disposal.
And you had the Western Bulldogs running all over the top of the reigning premiers, and looking like they were going to go on with the job.
Then, as it seems to when the Brisbane Lions are involved, it all changed.
Dayne Zorko started taking risky kicks, Eric Hipwood started competing, and the Lions defence got on top.
Suddenly, it was game on, and when you leave the door open for the Lions, even just slightly ajar, this mob will kick it in and storm on through.
This was a perfect Brisbane storm. They held up the run of the Dogs, they shut down their marking avenues, and they lifted, as one… as champion teams do, to run over the top of the Dogs to start the season 5-0.
Heaps to get through in this one. What caused this huge turnaround? What buttons did Chris Fagan push? And how did the Dogs let this one slip?
