A Lesson In Humility?

We’ve probably all been guilty of thinking we’re more important than we are at some stage in life. Be it at work, as part of a team, or just in your day-to-day life, things continue with or without you. Life goes on, people get by, and the world keeps turning. It doesn’t stop because of you.

At some point, you learn the world does not revolve around you.

For me, it occurred relatively early in my adult life, after I left a position I thought I was “irreplaceable” in.

Lo and behold, within two weeks, I was replaced, the work kept getting done, and nobody looked back.

At first, I admit my nose was out of joint. They replaced ME? Life went on without ME?

Well, yeah… it goes on without everyone. It taught me humility.

On that, how do you think Jake Stringer is feeling now, after reportedly telling people he’d “played his last game for Essendon” a few weeks back?
