R17 – St Kilda v Sydney – The Big Questions

What a game at Marvel Stadium.

What a finish.

What an effort by St Kilda.

And what a hurdle Logan McDonald now has to climb as he continues to establish himself as a key forward in the league.

There will be much written about the frantic final quarter that saw the Saints hold on against the Swans, with some of the most frantic action you’re ever likely to see. For a contest pitting the top-of-the-table Sydney against a St Kilda team that blew their chances at finals a while ago, this had the intensity and drama of a top-four clash.

And when the dust settled, it was the Saints, replete with incredibly bad bounces reminiscent of the 2010 Grand Final, that managed to hold on.

Stars shined brightly, returning players stood up, and recruits did what they were supposed to do as we witnessed St Kilda’s best outing of the year. It’s time to jump into The Mongrel’s Big Questions from the belter at Marvel.
